My top 5 VMworld posts and VMworld parties!

28th October 2020 vSphere 0

VMware TAMs like to work hard and play hard.  Exhibit A pictured your honour, in a VIP party at VMworld 2018 with a few of my customers.  As I’m sure you are aware, due to global events, sadly we can’t physically be at VMworld this year, but we can’t let this stop us from learning and having fun while doing it!  VMware have announced that entry online to hundreds of live and recorded sessions will be completely free!

If you’ve not registered, there’s still time to register for a free VMworld pass here:  https://www.vmworld.com/myvmworld-login.jspa

If you’re unsure what to sign up for in the schedule builder, I’d encourage you to search for technologies that you work with.  If you’re looking to get certified, definitely catch some of the VCP study presentations such as:

How to Pass the VCP-DCV 2020 Certification Exam [HCP2056]
Exam Guide Review: VCP-CMA [MCOP2632]
Exam Guide Review: VCP-DW [DWDE2630]
Exam Guide Review: VCP-DCV [MCOP2628]
Exam Guide Review: VCP-NV [VCNC2629]

There are a huge number of presentations, and you’ll get the usual hot off the press industry news and gossip from VMware, as well as our partners such as Dell, AWS, Veeam and Cohesity to name a small few, not to mention to totally awesome things that VMUG is doing this year.

Just tonight I’ve been to the VMUG VMworld Party virtually where I got to listen to the founder of Atari!  Nolan Bushell, talking about his favourite Atari games, Tempest and Centipede, AI and Quantum computing!  A real pleasure and a great way to kick off VMworld week.  I even got to virtually walk around, drive a boat and dance with my buddy, fellow TAM Dave Marley aka @bonkeydave

If you’re struggling to choose from all of the sessions, here are my top 5 picks.  I like to mix technical with personal development as you can see.  If you’ve got a premium pass I’d also check out my buddy, Leon Warren and his vROps session

I’ve also noticed these two just tonight which look great!

VMware Cloud on AWS: Networking Deep Dive and Emerging Capabilities [HCP1255] Ed Shmookler and Ron Fuller guide you through all the in’s and out’s of VMware Cloud on AWS networking and more.

Outstanding Presentations – How to Improve Your Presentation Skills [ETPD1361] Caio Olivera and Anderson Duboc explain how to take your presentations up a notch!

Now that you’ve registered for VMworld, built your schedule, it’s VERY important, that you plan the festivities to relax to after you’ve learned your socks off!  Here are the events that I’ll be going too, I mean, who wouldn’t want to hear from Shaq or sing along to Frozen, er, for the kids…. ha ha
